The Ingman Ice Cream Group, which is a wholly owned sub- group of the Ingman Group, is a Finnish food industry group. The vision of the Group is to be a leading ice cream player on selected markets and the market leader of non-dairy ice cream in Europe. In the Baltic countries, the operations also comprise sales of other frozen foodstuffs. In April 2009, the company acquired a majority holding in a Belarusian ice cream company.
According to its business concept, the Group concentrates on products that are safe, of a high quality and taste good, offering consumers new taste experiences. The Group’s major resources lie in the solid competence of its personnel, innovative product development and valuable traditions. In its operations, the company applies advanced quality systems.
Ingman Ice Cream operates in practically all ice cream segments, and the company has been the first to introduce several new products to the ice cream market, such as packaged cones, giant cones, premium ice cream and non-dairy ice cream.
The Group’s head office is located in Sipoo, in Southern Finland.
In addition to its domestic market Finland, the Group has extensive operations in Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Sweden. The Group has four production facilities, located in Finland, Sweden, Lithuania and Belarus. The major export markets are the UK and Russia.
The net sales of the Group totalled EUR 69.0 million in 2009 (EUR 68.7 million in 2008). The exports and foreign operations decreased to EUR 27.2 million (EUR 30.8 million), and their share of the net sales was 39.4% (44.8%). The net sales of the domestic operations increased by 10.2%, while the net sales of foreign operations and exports fell by 11.7%. The Group’s average number of employees totalled 508 (534). There are 155 employees in Finland and 353 in other countries.
The gross investments of the Group totalled EUR 5.5 million (EUR 4.8 million). The largest single investment was the acquisition of a 54% share in a company called COOO Ingman Morozhenoe in Belarus. The research and development operations, as well as the efforts to protect the environment, continued with the same resources as before. Finnish quality and environmental requirements will be applied in Belarus as well.
Ingman Ice Cream’s values are a coherent part of the company’s operations. When every employee is familiar with the common values and takes them into account in his or her own work, the company as a whole can act according to its values. The values are result-yielding operations, development, customer orientation, interaction and responsibility.
